In most cases, yes. We include surface cleaning and pressure washing or surface cleaning as part of the prep for sealing so we’re not sealing over dirt, algae, or buildup. For heavily soiled or surrounding areas—like steps, retaining walls, or nearby concrete—we may recommend additional pressure washing as an add-on so everything looks clean and consistent.
In our area, many surfaces benefit from resealing every few years, depending on traffic, sun exposure, and the type of sealer used. During your estimate, we can give a realistic expectation based on your specific patio or walkway.
